The Rides
Almanzo 100
On May 19, I’ll ride my third Almanzo. 2010 was so hot and dry, I had to beg a farmer for a bottle refill. 2011 was so cold and miserable, I couldn’t feel my feet for weeks. 2012 will be matte black and carbon – the Auger’s Almanzo debut.
Gunflint 100
With the help of the fine folks at Foundry, I hope to organize and unleash a new ride in the Minnesota north woods. Starting on the beach in Grand Marais, the race is simple – ride to the end of the Gunflint trail. First rider back to the water, wins.

Midnight Mini Massacre
I’ve got my eyes on this ride in Ponder, TX on August 13. It’s a metric century that starts at 8pm. It’s described as, “primarily made up of dirt/gravel roads as well as some short and desolate paved segments.” Perfect.
2012 Texas Cyclocross
In past years, my participation in the cross season was limited to the occasional Saturday when I can borrow a buddy’s CX ride. This year, that won’t be a problem. I hope to ride the bulk of this year’s cross season, thanks to Foundry.
